Chemeketa Excellence in Teaching Award

Beginning in 2022, Chemeketa Community College will award an annual Excellence in Teaching Award to two deserving faculty members whose commitment to teaching and learning best embodies the mission and values of the college.

The Award

Winners will receive a $1,000 cash award from the college. A plaque engraved with the names of winners is on display in Building 9 on the Salem Campus.

Eligibility

  • Full-time, regular status teaching faculty.
  • Part-time faculty with at least three terms of teaching at the college within the two most recent academic years.

Faculty serving on the review committee and any winners from the previous three years are not eligible for the award.

Process

Community members can nominate an instructor using the nomination form through December 31. If you wish to submit more than one name, please submit a separate form for each individual nominee. The selection committee will gather further documentation about the nominee's practice from a variety of sources. The review committee will select the recipients based on the information received. Recipients will be notified during spring term and recognized at an event in May.
